Growing And Expanding
The Corbett Law Firm expanded its practice to include patent infringement litigation cases in the field of chemical sciences.
Augustus Corbett is uniquely qualified to practice patent infringement litigation in the field of chemical sciences for two reasons. First, in law school he took several patent law and licensing classes to prepare for a career in patent infringement litigation. However, he did not pursue patent infringement litigation right after law school because he wanted to learn litigation first. Now that he has successfully litigated civil cases, the time is right to broaden his practice to include patent infringement litigation.
Former Research Chemist
The second reason Augustus Corbett is uniquely qualified to practice patent infringement litigation in the field of chemical sciences is his knowledge of chemistry. He started learning chemistry at North Carolina A&T State University when he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. During college, Konica hired him as a chemical technician in its photographic paper division. Immediately after graduating from college, Halstead Industries hired him as a research chemist in their rubber division. Eventually, he left Halstead Industries when Lord Corporation offered him a research chemist position in their electrorheological fluids division. In fact, it was a patent attorney friend at Lord Corporation that encouraged him to pursue a career in patent law. After leaving Lord, Mr. Corbett taught chemistry to high school students. Hence, chemistry is not Greek to him.
